‎Court Ruling is a Strategy to Weaken Me — Atiku ‎

By Adamu Muhammad

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has described the Federal High Court judgment that nullified the African Democratic Congress ADC leadership as a deliberate move to weaken his 2027 presidential ambition.

‎‎Atiku made this known in a statement issued by his campaign spokesman, Phrank Shaibu. He alleged that the timing of the ruling was not a coincidence, as it came just one day after a huge crowd attended his campaign rally in Sokoto State.

‎‎”The timing of this judgment is no coincidence. It is part of a strategy to weaken my support in the North and frustrate a campaign whose message is resonating across the country,” Atiku stated.

‎He argued that his opponents have underestimated his national appeal by assuming his support is limited to the North. He noted that the large turnout in Sokoto showed Nigerians are hungry for change, adding that his campaign will continue to gain momentum in Kebbi and other parts of the country.

‎The former Vice President also questioned the legal basis of the ruling. He pointed out that Justice Musa Liman of the same Federal High Court had previously dismissed a similar challenge against the David Mark-led committee in July 2026. He described the latest judgment as an abuse of court processes and vowed to challenge it at the Court of Appeal.
