Former Kano State Deputy Governor and former Minister, H.E. Abdullahi Tijjani Muhammad Gwarzo, will lead the All Progressives Congress APC campaign in Kano for the 2027 general elections.
The APC in Kano State named Gwarzo as Director General of its Presidential and Gubernatorial Campaign Management Team.
His appointment was contained in a list released by the party and signed by the Kano State APC Chairman, Hon. Umar Haruna Doguwa.
Gwarzo is not new to Kano politics. He served as Deputy Governor and later as Minister, giving him years of experience in government and party affairs. His choice to head the campaign shows the party’s plan to put a familiar and respected name at the front of its 2027 push in Kano.
Hon. Bala Muhammad Gwagwarwa will serve as First Deputy Director General. Dr. Yunusa Adamu Dangwani is Deputy Director General for Kano South, while Dr. Ali Haruna Abubakar Makoda and Sen. Abdussalam Abdulkarim Zaura are Deputy Directors-General for Kano North and Kano Central respectively.
Dr. Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure is Assistant Director-General for Women Affairs, while Hon. Garba Yusuf Abubakar is Assistant Director-General for Operations.
The party also named five campaign spokespersons. They are Hon. Sunusi Majidadi Kiru (Chief Campaign Spokesperson), Hon. Musa Iliyasu Kwankwas (Spokesperson II), Rt. Hon. Yusuf Abdullahi Atah (Spokesperson III), Hon. Bashir Sanata (Spokesperson IV), and Hajiya A’isha Shariff (Spokesperson V).
Others on the list are Prof. Aliyu Isa Aliyu (Administrative Officer I), Dr. Kabiru Sani Yakubu (Administrative Officer II), Nana Asmau Jibrin (Deputy Secretary), Hon. Aminu Musa Gabasawa (First Deputy Secretary), Dr. Hamisu Sadi Ali (Deputy Secretary I), and Hon. Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa (Secretary).
The party said the directors of the various directorates of the campaign council would be unveiled in the coming days.
