The Director General of the National Productivity center NPC, Dr. Baffa Babba Dan’agundi, has accused close aides of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf of diverting caps meant for his group.
Dan’agundi said the governor approved 100,000 caps for “One Million March” rally. But his group received less than 10,000 caps on the eve of the event. He stated this in an interview with Kano Live 24 TV.
Dan’agundi explained that he personally asked the governor for the maroon coloured caps with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s emblem on them. He said the caps were meant to bring the group together and make them look united during the march. He noted that members used to wear different caps, which made the group look scattered.
After the request, Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf approved the production and sharing of the 100,000 caps. But Dan’agundi blamed the governor’s inner circle who were given the job of delivering the caps. He accused them of sabotage.
He said the aides brought only 9,000 plus caps, which is not even up to 10,000. He also said they deliberately delayed the delivery until the last minute.
Despite the problem, Dan’agundi said he was happy with how the governor reacted. He said Governor Abba was very disappointed and angry when he heard about the shortfall. The governor promised to set up a serious investigation to find out who was behind the fraud.
Dan’agundi said he was impressed by the governor’s honesty. He restated his full loyalty to him. He also asked all his supporters to register with the APC from top to bottom.
