We Won’t Withdraw for ADC or Any Party – Kwankwaso

By Adamu Muhammad

The presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress NDC, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has dismissed claims that he plans to step down for the African Democratic Congress ADC candidate ahead of the 2027 election.

‎Kwankwaso said he has noted with deep concern the conduct of the ADC campaign team. The attacks directed at him, the NDC’s presidential candidate, Peter Obi, and their party are unnecessary and unhelpful.

‎According to him, rather than focusing on presenting the competence and credibility of their own candidate, the ADC Presidential Campaign Council appears intent on creating mischief. He accused them of trying to portray the NDC as working for the ruling party or planning to withdraw from the race at the last minute.

‎Kwankwaso said the ADC-PCC would be better served directing its energy toward rebutting the serious allegations levelled against their candidate by Vice President Kashim Shettima, instead of targeting him and Peter Obi.

‎‎He stated clearly that the NDC will not withdraw its candidature for the ADC or any other party. He said the NDC remains confident in its capacity, competence, and readiness to lead Nigeria.

‎‎”The OK ticket is neither working for nor acting on behalf of the APC or any of its candidates. We see no possibility or reason to withdraw from the presidential race in favour of the ADC candidate or any other. These claims are unfounded and should be treated as such,” he said.

‎‎Kwankwaso said the APC-led government has failed Nigerians, adding that the ADC offers no better alternative. He insisted that the OK ticket presents a credible and viable option, backed by proven capacity, a strong track record, and broad support across both Northern and Southern Nigeria.

‎He described the ticket as one committed to uniting the country and tackling critical challenges in security, education, agriculture, infrastructure, healthcare, and the economy.

‎‎Kwankwaso said the NDC remains the most formidable opposition party in the country. He urged all supporters and well-meaning Nigerians to continue working toward the victory of the party.
