The Kano State Multi-Agency Taskforce on Drug Abuse and Illicit Trafficking has denied allegations of political bias, promising a fair crackdown on anyone involved in drug abuse and thuggery, regardless of their political party.
The Chairman of the taskforce, Barrister Muhyi Magaji Rimin Gado, made this known during an interview with Khalid Yusuf Idris, the lead journalist of Kanolive24.
Speaking on the taskforce’s progress, Magaji declared that no amount of sabotage or threats will stop them from carrying out their duties for the benefit of Kano State.
He pointed out that some individuals are fighting the taskforce because they are making money from drug trafficking and thuggery in the state. He stressed that the taskforce will not sit back and watch unpatriotic people destroy the state.
Addressing specific claims that the taskforce ignores armed thugs at political rallies hosted by the ruling party, Magaji strongly denied the accusations.
He assured the public that the taskforce does not discriminate and will take action against anyone who breaks the law, no matter their political affiliation.
He promised that the taskforce will always operate with the highest level of fairness and transparency, without any personal interest or favoritism.
In his closing remarks, the Chairman thanked Islamic scholars, traditional rulers, key stakeholders, and communities across the state and the country for their immense support and cooperation.
