‎Atiku Condemns Attacks on Sowore, ADC Candidate in Sokoto ‎

By Adamu Muhammad

Former Vice President and ADC presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has strongly condemned the simultaneous attacks on AAC presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore and the ADC governorship candidate in Sokoto State, Manir Muhammad Dan’iya.

‎‎In a post on his official Facebook page on Saturday, Atiku described the twin attacks as deeply troubling and unacceptable. He alleged that the assaults expose the ruling APC plan to oppress and intimidate opposition leaders ahead of the 2027 elections.

‎‎He stated that it is disturbing that while President Bola Tinubu is away on a spiritual pilgrimage, political thugs loyal to his party are unleashing terror on his opponents back home.

‎”The continued attacks on opposition figures and the unexplained disappearance of critical social media influencers are clear red flags of a dangerous slide toward a censored state,” Atiku stated.

‎He further alleged that a local security outfit in Sokoto State has been harassing ADC supporters and manhandling citizens simply for wearing ADC merchandise.

‎Atiku demanded immediate and transparent investigations into both attacks. He warned that the Tinubu government must stop trying to silence the opposition and must guarantee a free, fair, and competitive election in 2027.

‎”We shall resist every ongoing attempt to cancel political opposition in Nigeria,” he warned.
