The Independent National Electoral Commission INEC has released an updated list for the 2027 Kano State governorship election, leaving the name of the National Democratic Congress NDC gubernatorial candidate, Comrade Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, completely blank.
According to the updated list dated October 31, 2026, the row for the NDC gubernatorial candidate is empty. In the remarks column next to the blank space, INEC simply noted “Court Order.”
This development implies that the electoral commission is currently restricted by a court ruling regarding the party’s candidate.
Gwarzo had been widely recognized as the NDC gubernatorial candidate for Kano State. His name has now been omitted from the official list due to the pending legal directive.
INEC has not yet released further details on the specific court order affecting the NDC ticket.
