The Commandant General of the Kano State Hisbah Board, Sheikh Aminu Ibrahim Daurawa, has declared that he is not a politician and will not campaign for any candidate or party ahead of the 2027 elections.
His statement comes shortly after the All Progressives Congress APC in Kano State appointed him to its 155 member election campaign advisory committee. The committee was set up to oversee the party’s presidential and governorship campaigns.
The respected Islamic scholar made it clear that he remains politically neutral and is completely distancing himself from party politics.
Sheikh Daurawa stated that he will serve as a moral guide.
He offered prayers for the country’s democracy, stating that his only hope is for Nigeria to have leaders who believe in justice and care deeply for the poor and vulnerable.
Daurawa concluded with a strong appeal for good governance. He urged that no matter which party wins the 2027 polls, the new leaders must govern with the fear of God, transparency, and a commitment to protecting the security and livelihood of ordinary citizens above their own personal interests.
