‎FG Begins N50,000 Monthly Cash Relief for Vulnerable Nigerians ‎

By Adamu Muhammad

‎The Federal Government has started a monthly cash relief programme to give N50,000 to vulnerable households across the country. This is to help them cope with the rising cost of living.

‎The Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction, Dr. Bernard Doro, announced this in a statement. He said the programme, called the National Emergency Relief and Stabilisation Intervention NERSI, is a presidential initiative.

‎‎Dr. Doro explained that the programme was introduced to help millions of vulnerable Nigerians, especially with global food inflation making life hard for families. He noted that the initiative aligns with President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.

‎The Minister stated that beneficiaries will get text messages asking for their consent before the money is paid directly into their bank accounts or mobile wallets.

‎‎Dr. Doro also issued a strong warning to fraudsters. He advised beneficiaries not to share their PINs or Bank Verification Numbers BVNs with anyone. He made it clear that people do not need to apply, pay any fee, or go through agents to receive the money.

‎He assured the public that the government will handle the programme with dignity, transparency, and accountability.
