The Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board has finalized arrangements to refund excess Hajj deposits to 500 intending pilgrims for the 2027 Hajj exercise.
The Director-General of the Board, Alhaji Abubakar Ibrahim Matawalle, disclosed this in his office, explaining that the refund follows the announcement of the final Hajj fare of N7,672,822.
The Director-General stated that the affected pilgrims initially deposited N8 million each. With the new fare, each pilgrim is entitled to a refund of N327,178, representing the difference.
To facilitate the process, Matawalle directed the affected pilgrims to visit the Board through their respective Local Government Hajj Centre officers to submit the necessary documents.
The required documents are their bank account details, a photocopy of the original payment receipt, and a formal letter requesting the refund.
He gave a deadline for the submission, stating that all documents must be submitted on or before Monday, October 26, 2026, so that the payments can commence.
The Director-General also appreciated the Kano State Government for its continuous support in ensuring the welfare of pilgrims in the state.
