Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has officially received the All Progressives Congress APC governorship flag for the 2027 elections at the party’s presidential campaign flag-off in Kaduna State on Saturday.
The event was attended by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, the APC National Chairman, and other top party leaders from across the country.
The presentation of the flag shows the party full endorsement of Governor Yusuf candidacy. It also places Kano, with its massive voting population, at the center of the APC national strategy for 2027.
Speaking at the rally, Governor Yusuf charged members of the Kano State Campaign Council to intensify grassroots mobilisation. He gave them a clear target to make Kano the state with the highest number of votes for President Tinubu in the upcoming election.
He urged the campaign officials to engage deeply with communities and voters across the state, advising them to focus their messages on the achievements and programmes of the APC government, rather than engaging in personal attacks against opponents.
Governor Yusuf’s prominent role at the Kaduna rally follows his recent defection from the NNPP to the APC, a move that has significantly reshaped the political landscape in Kano ahead of the 2027 polls.
