Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has assured President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that Northern Nigeria will support his re-election in the 2027 general elections.
The Governor gave the assurance on Saturday in Abuja during the inauguration of the Arewa for Asiwaju (A4A) campaign office.
Governor Yusuf expressed confidence that the North would stand behind the President. He also reaffirmed his personal commitment to the President’s second tenure ambition.
He said the A4A movement will serve as a platform to mobilise support across the Northern states and strengthen political engagement ahead of the 2027 polls.
The Governor specifically promised that Kano, as the state with the highest number of votes in the North, will lead other Nigerian states to deliver victory for President Tinubu with a massive turnout for the APC.
Also speaking at the event, Vice President Kashim Shettima said the North has shown its support for the President. However, he stressed that political support must go hand in hand with accountability, good governance, and tangible results that improve the lives of Nigerians.
The Vice President acknowledged the economic challenges facing citizens. He said the administration must remain responsive to their concerns while focusing on security, education, poverty reduction, and economic opportunities.
The A4A movement is designed to coordinate support for President Tinubu and Vice President Shettima across the 19 Northern states and the Federal Capital Territory. Former Minister of Defence, H.E. Badaru Abubakar, is its National Coordinator.
